Pragmata Review: Capcom's Best New IP in Years
Pragmata earns an 8.5 with inventive hacking combat and a genuinely moving story set on a corrupted lunar station.
- Score 8.5 out of 10
- Best Capcom new IP since Devil May Cry
- 12 to 15 hours of focused single-player action
Capcom has done something rare with Pragmata: launched a brand-new IP that instantly stands alongside their greatest franchises. One million copies in 48 hours. An 86 on Metacritic. This is our detailed review.
The Hacking Combat System
Hugh can target corrupted code running enemy behavior, highlighted as glowing glyphs through his scanner. Hitting these triggers takeovers — forcing enemies to fight for you, disabling weapons, or detonating them. It creates a combat flow unlike any third-person action game.
An exceptional debut for a new Capcom franchise. Inventive hacking combat, memorable characters, and stunning RE Engine visuals make Pragmata unmissable. Minor Act 2 pacing is the only real criticism.
